In the holy town of Vrindavan, an 87-year-old sadhu, Sadhuji, has devoted his life to feeding and caring for over a thousand monkeys every single day. For more than five decades, he has made it his mission to ensure these animals are not left hungry or uncared for, even as he battles the challenges of old age and health issues.

“Monkeys have been my family,” says Sadhuji. “They depend on me, and I can’t bear to see them suffer. As long as I live, I will do everything I can to care for them.”

What started as a small gesture of compassion during Sadhuji’s childhood—feeding stray animals near his school—has become a lifelong legacy of kindness. Today, even at 87, he delivers daily quintals of wheat, chana, and fresh fruits to the monkeys and provides medical care to those who are injured or ill.

Sadhuji spends his days under the shade of trees, surrounded by monkeys who come to him for food and care. The bond between him and these animals is heartwarming, as they express their gratitude with trust and affection.

However, the rising costs of food, medical supplies, and transportation are making it increasingly difficult for Sadhuji to sustain this mission. He dreams of continuing his work and creating a system where these animals are cared for, even after he is gone.

“I can’t do this alone anymore,” he pleads. “I need your help to ensure these monkeys are fed and cared for. Together, we can protect them.”
