The Maha Kumbh Mela is a once-in-12-years spiritual gathering where millions of sadhus and devotees congregate in Prayagraj. These ascetics, known for their dedication to spirituality and renunciation, travel long distances under extreme conditions. Temperatures during the Kumbh can drop to as low as 5°C, creating an additional challenge for sadhus who often lack adequate food and shelter. Our campaign,Support Anna Daan Mahotsav to feed devotion at Maha Kumbh Mela and receive divine blessings in return, is dedicated to ensuring no sadhu goes hungry during this sacred event. From January 13 to February 26, 2025, we aim to serve 10,000 warm, nutritious meals daily to sadhus, providing them the energy and sustenance they need to engage in their spiritual practices. Each meal is an offering of compassion, respect, and community, reflecting the ethos of Anna Daan, one of the most revered forms of charity in Hindu culture. Sadhus’ journey to the Kumbh is marked by hardships – walking for miles, battling extreme weather, and navigating through massive crowds. Often relying on charity for survival, they face hunger and fatigue, which can hinder their spiritual pursuits. Through this initiative, we aim to not only meet their basic needs but also uplift their spirits, enabling them to focus on prayers and rituals that enhance the spiritual essence of the Maha Kumbh.
